Mirabaud is one of Switzerland’s oldest banking dynasties. Founded in 1819, its history spans almost two centuries including wars, depressions, stock market crashes and many other momentous events.

The bank has been involved at every stage of the birth and development of the Swiss banking system. In 1857 the bank joined Switzerland’s first ever securities exchange on its launch in Geneva and is now a member of the Swiss Stock Exchange and the SWX Swiss Exchange.

In 1931 Mirabaud co-founded the Geneva Private Bankers Association and now is a member of the Swiss Bankers Association and the Swiss Private Bankers Association. The global expansion of Mirabaud began in 1974 with operations being set up in the Bahamas. The next 35 years witnessed rapid growth with offices being established in Montreal, Paris, Monaco, Zurich, Basle, Hong Kong Dubai, Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia.

The bank acquired its London operations in 1990 with a view to diversifying into institutional stock broking culminating with joining the London Stock Exchange in 1995.
